The Columbaria Company celebrates it's 30th birthday during 2020.

Back in 1989, there was no Columbaria Company and our manager Peter Roper (then working for Odlings Ltd) was tasked with investigating the columbaria industry on the continent with a view of creating a new company to design, manufacture and install new products for cremated remains in the UK. The Columbaria Company was born
In the early day's Peter was supported by just one admin. staff and the first Columbaria Company products installed were Vase Blocks, Planters and the Sanctum 2 (below ground vault).

As granite was not so readily available, the company's earlier products were manufactured of either Italian Carrara Marble, UK sourced Yorkstone or cast-stone/concrete and were installed insitu at crematoriums/cemeteries around the UK by the Columbaria Companies embryonic Memorial Installation Team.

Since day one The Columbaria Company has offered a service for the design of Gardens Of Remembrance layouts for it's customers and until 2015 these drawings were produced the traditional way using pen and ink and a drawing board but are now produced using the latest CAD software to produce accurate 3D imagery and technical layouts.

Over the years, the company has grown organically in both staff numbers, product range and financial turnover and today, The Columbaria Company employs 9 full-time staff members within the office who between them have over 100 years experience in the "after-cremation memorials sector". The company also has it's own factory facilities with dedicated staff who are primarily resonsible for preparing memorials for delivery. On-site installation of memorials is undertaken by a team of experienced site fitters.
